Terrace Plaza Hotel

The Terrace Plaza Hotel located in Cincinnati, Ohio completed construction in 1948. This building was the first hotel built after World War 2 in the United States as well as the largest building built after the war. The new owners of the building have begun renovating the building for both a retail and residential property.

For the demolition, the soft walls needed to be removed due to the asbestos located within the walls. On the lower floors, containment areas were set up for filtering the air filled with asbestos. These contaminated areas were off-limits for the safety of everyone involved in the demolition.

Since the building was being stripped down to the skeleton it was important to have our team of engineers on this project. With our 3D modelling technology, our engineers were able to calculate the load capacity of the structure and ensure it did not affect the base building and structural capacity after we were done.
